I was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. From a very young age I was taught to be athletic from my father. Growing up I did many sports, football, baseball, wrestling, BMX, Motocross, skateboarding, snowboarding and any other basic outdoor activity a kid could get into…. I came from such a competitive background that my father actually built a backstop in my yard, and hired some one to build s pitchers mound so we could have baseball practice at my house, this alleviated the red to book the field and deal with “the hassle of the other teams.”, so his solution was to simply build a baseball field in our back yard. So growing up was all about competing and becoming the best version of who I could become, though these sports. Once I was in high school my main sport was wrestling. This sport taught me so much about life and dedication, hard work and how to achieve goals. This experience and knowledge that has been ingrained within myself serves me well today as I work one on one with my athletes and clients, however now I am working on the other side, by motivating and helping people push past their limitations just as I work beside them pushing past my barriers achieving my on goals.
After high school I went to CCAC and graduated with an associates degree in flight technology. This degree allowed me to attain my commercial pilots license along with my instrument rating. After graduating from CCAC I enrolled in Slippery Rock University where I majored in business management and marketing with a minor in exercise physiology. After graduating from Slippery Rock my first job out of college was working as an executive team leader for The Target Corporation. I was transferred to Charleston West Virginia where I worked for approximately 9 months. During this time I learned so much about myself, leadership and what I do not want
to do with the rest of my life… I was working 80 hours per week, not doing
anything that was of any enjoyment, and I remember thinking to my
self “this is not why I went to college…” …. So I started searching out for
something that was better suited for my life and my passion…. I looked on
the website Work Pittsburgh.com and found an opening for a store
manage position at GNC in Pittsburgh Pa… I applied for the job, went on
the interview and in less than one month my new career was started… I
moved from Charleston back to Pittsburgh, excited for my new experience
Once at GNC, I worked in the store for about 9 months before getting a promotion into the Corporate office as the Event Coorinator. While managing my store in the Waterworks mall in Pittsburgh pa. I learned a lot about supplementation and the consumers that purschase them, what the want and what they really need. This suits me well now as I help people understand what it is they are putting in their bodies, I use this knowledge daily with my clients to help them decide what supplementation to use for their specific goal. I can definitely say working in the store at GNC was a very good experience that laid a lot of the ground work for my future success.
